About Julia Gavin
Photography has always been part of my life. My Dad always had a large collection of cameras around the house, he processed his own film and taking photos was the norm. My first camera was a Zenit SLR bought for my 12th birthday. At 18 I passed an A level in photography.
My interest in photography started to become a more serious hobby around 2001 and I put on the first of two exhibitions at my local library. The positive feedback and sales of prints encouraged me to take my hobby to a higher level and I subsequently purchased my first digital camera and began taking photos more frequently.
My main passion is for landscape photography but I also enjoy capturing images of modern architecture and the detail of close up subjects.
As I work full time, I have to find time as and when I can to satisfy my obsession with photography. To me photography is like collecting little pieces of the world around us and I plan to continue adding to my collection.
