Epsom Downs, Surrey, UK. 17th January 2016. The happy snowman. Overnight snowfall left a blanket of white across Epsom Downs which remained throughout the day. As part of the North Downs in Surrey, Epsom Downs is at a slightly higher elevation than the surrounding area and often has a covering when the nearby town is snow free.

Photography has always been part of my life. My Dad always had a large collection of cameras around the house, he processed his own film and taking photos was the norm. My first camera was a Zenit SLR bought for my 12th birthday. At 18 I passed an A level in photography. My interest in photography started to become a more serious hobby around 2001 and I put on the first of two exhibitions at my local library. The positive feedback and sales of prints encouraged me to take my hobby to a higher level and I subsequently purchased my first digital camera and began taking photos more frequently.
